The Window Diaries with Marluki: cozy postcard series

Sometimes all you need is a cat, a cup of tea, and a window with a good view.

That’s exactly how the new postcard series The Window Diaries with Marluki began. I had this vague idea for a postcard series where the scene stays the same, but the decorations and mood change depending on the theme. It could’ve been anything, really: a shelf, a table, a street corner. I told the idea to Mari (If you are not familiar with Mari Kolorowa yet you can read our small talk here).

She came back with a peaceful window, a soft red curtain, and a cat that instantly stole my heart. That’s when Marluki was born.

The name Marluki came to me with a bit of a Japanese-inspired feel, a gentle nod to the kind of literature and visual calm I find in Japanese aesthetics. I didn’t overthink it. It just… felt right.

Now Marluki is here, watching the world go by, from postcards that carry small, quiet stories.

The first two postcards in the series
We’re starting with two:

🟠 One for World Postcard Day, filled with autumn warmth, flying birds, pumpkins, and a desk scattered with writing and little seasonal treasures.
🌸 One that’s soft and neutral – apples, tulips, sunshine, and a purring Marluki basking in the moment. This one works for any time of year.

What’s next?
We’ve already finished a few more cards (yes, Marluki has been busy). They’ll arrive later this year and include:

✏️ Back to school
🍂 Cozy autumn
🦇 Creepy-but-cute Marluki for spooky season

and… Christmas of course.

And yes, the scene will always stay the same – it’s just Marluki, the window, and whatever magic the day brings.

Why a blog post for postcards?
Because this series is more than just images. It’s a feeling. A slow, cozy pause. A way to send a quiet story in the mail.
And honestly? I just wanted to introduce Marluki properly. He’ll be sticking around.

I’ve started to wonder… maybe one day a real Marluki will find his way into my home. For now, this illustrated version is doing a pretty good job keeping me company on the windowsill.

And now I’m curious, what’s outside your window? What little scenes or daily rituals bring you calm? Feel free to share in the comments or on Instagram.

Also, we would be glad to hear all ideas for Marluki series.
