This postcard is quietly special. At first glance it feels minimal, almost airy, and then the details start to appear. The hot-air balloon illustration is finished with subtle foil-stamped clouds that catch the light just enough, without taking over the image.
The illustration is by Necktie, a duo formed by Norikazu Aizawa and Asami Aizawa, based in Sapporo. Their work often balances gentle storytelling with very controlled composition: nothing extra, nothing missing. This postcard fits that approach perfectly.
Printed on quality paper, size 100 × 148 mm, it works well both for Postcrossing and for keeping. The foil elements add texture and depth, but the overall feeling stays calm and uncluttered. It’s the kind of card that doesn’t need a long message to feel complete.
I chose this design because it leaves space: for writing, for imagination, for the person receiving it. A small scene, carefully finished, meant to travel slowly.
